can't get passesnger side header bolts in!!!!

I'm reinstalling the passenger side manifold and its a PITA to get the damn bolts in....whats the trick to getting these suckers in? The bolt thats right under the power steering pump pipe is FREAKING hard to get started. Does anyone have tips on getting this done easier? What about getting the gasket to line up correctly?

I'm installing the stock manifold because I need to pass smog. I'm using the gaskets that Jet provided with thier long tubes along with the stock bolts.

You can always loosen the alternator brakcet to give you a little more clearance. But I always laid across the engine bay with my head pointing toward the passanger side an held the header/ manifold up with my left hand and threaded the bolt with my right. HTH

Yeah twisting your body over the car/engine to get different angles helps sometimes. Just be careful and don't force it in. The aluminum heads will strip real easy.

I used a universal (swivel) joint with my socket to get to that one.

I laied across the engine and started it by hand. Make sure the bolt hole pattern of the gasket is the same. Some headers use a different pattern than the stock manifolds.
