These bellhousing bolts are a pain to get to. Do you guys remember how many and long the extensions were that you used and did you use a 1/2" or 3/8" drive? Also what did you do to tilt the trans back, I removed the cross member and y-pipe, should I do anything else?

1/2 inch extensions would be the best.
I used about 2 to 2 1/2 feet of extension to get the top ones.
Like said above use a swival to get them.
Take the tranny cross mount out and slowly let the transmission go down. It will only come down so far. You should have better access to it than.

I got my trans. out in under an hour, I bought the longest extension Sears had (36") and also used a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter so I could use 1/4 u-joint with a 14mm 1/4 drive six point socket. I never had to drop the trans. or anything, I guess when you do enough you just get proficient at it. Hope this helps a little.

Over the top
When you drop the tranny down, be sure to keep the jack on the pan. That sucker is heavy and dangerous. To get the cooler lines off, take off the catalytic converter heat shield and bend your 1/2" line-wrench to about a 60 degree angle. This makes it easy to get the cooler lines off. If you don't have a vice to bend the wrench, take a hammer to it out on your curb. Be careful, because it will jump when you bash it. The top bellhousing bolts are accessible over the top of the tranny from the rear with 3 feet of 1/2" extensions. A swivel is almost required for the socket. Don't use an impact, because it's dangerous with that much extension. I used a torque wrench to loosen them and reinstall them at 70lbs. If you need any more help, just let us know.
