Can't get a break.... any ideas guys???

Okay so a crotch rockets slams into me about 8 hours ago. I figure what the hell so I take my car on the freeway.....bring it to a stop and nail it. Alls well at first then shifting into third it sounds like the trans kinda slips. I slow down and stop on the offramp. When I start moving again my car refuses to shift outta first gear. I stop, run it through the gears and go but the problem still remains. The tranny got just as much miles on it as the motor 3k. I go back and park. I'm bumming heavily, smashed car...messed up tranny....what next. I get a call and go back on the road and the car seems to be back to normal. Any ideas???

Either way its not normal. Will the trans shop warrantee it with 3k on it. They should, I paid 2200 to rebuild, put in a shift kit, and beast plate. I was told it could handle upwards of 500hp.

Well thanks for the help and letting me whine about my luck.

I will assume that when you say a car slammed into you, it was an accident in which the police were called out and insurances will be notified. If this is the case, inform the adjuster of the now new problem with the transmission and see if it can be covered under the insurance.

I just read your other post about the accident. Sounded like he just glanced right off of you basically doing cosmetic damaged and not much more than that. I say get your paperwork ready for the tranny shop and see what they will cover.

I second that. Bring up every little problem which could be stemmed from the accident.

However, if the insurance company won't take care of it, the company that rebuilt the tranny should have a warranty which came with the rebuild. How big that warranty is depends on whom ever built it, so check your paperwork.

My old auto did something like this when it went out. I later found out the clutch bands were fried. Mine right at first would drive ok when it was cold but when it started to heat up it would start slipping and eventually it just died. I am guessing you will need another rebuild. sry bout the luck man

You do realize that it was just rebuilt like 3 months ago. That is not normal. And I highly doubt that a car crash (of that magnitude) would contribute to any mechanical problems. I'm thinking computer as you are S.J.S.

BTW: What's you name? You should post that at the bottom of your sig or sign it at the end of your posts. I know a lot of people on the board by name. WHAT'S YOUR'S

Damn....$2200 for a rebuild. They better fix it if something is wrong. You can get an FLP lv4 tranny for about that much.

Nah.... I was a a dead stop and nailed it and went from 0-100. After that to me it just felt weird at the last shift. When I came to a stop it never left 1st after that until I turned the car off then back on. You know.... if remember correctly I think I saw a Check Engine light.

Not shipped to Hawaii you can't. As for the codes, I was gonna check it the next day I get off. My brother in law has a Snap On scanner.
