Unhappy Can't feel my legs!

I recently purchased a 1994 Z28 and am now coming to find the heat dosn't work. Living in Michigan and driving from Kalamazoo to Saginaw periodically, I find the lack of heat a small problem. checked under the dash and the door alowing vent access to the core is working properly but it hard to tell if the lines going to and from the core are warm or cold due to their location next to the manifold. I was going to replace the thermostat but the temp gauge seems to be reading normal. If anybody has had an experience like this or has any advice that might save me from just replaceing parts untill the problems fixed, I would really apreciate it.

Welcome to the board

This is a common problem, our heater core gets full of gunk and it stops working. The fix is very easy, just flush the coolant in the system, and then you will have heat again. This happened on both of my Z28's this year...both have heat now

If you do a search for "no heat" or "heater core" or something like that, you will probably get more responces than you have time to look at

I would replace thermostat and bleed the system thouroughly. Mine warmed up considerably by bleeding. Good luck.

When you flush the coolant system make sure that you follow the directions on refilling it. You can't just dump the coolant in it the traditional way. Just like stated above you have to open the bleeder screw.

Welcome to CZ28. The thermostat should be okay if your temp gauge is right. Bleeding may help but you probably need to remove the lines going to the heater core and reverse flow through the core with a garden hose. A good time to flush and replace antifreeze if it has not been done in a couple of years. Later>>>>>>>>

I doubt anyone is looking anymore but thanks for the help. I got the core flushed for $50 and now I have to crack the windows . The guy had to reverse the flow 3 times before anything even came out.

Thanks again.
