Can't buy just front brake lines?

All I can find is a complete set of front & rear Earl's or stainless steel kits. I just want the fronts. Does anyone carry just the fronts?

So get a set of lines for a 98 Camaro, they will fit on the rear of an LT1 car. The driver side rear is a bit too long but you can drill a new mouinting hole and relocate it slightly inboard to make the loine fit better.

Call earls, russel, or aeroquip. Thats your best bet, see if they will sell you just fronts, or you can have them custom made to the right length and fittings.

I tried getting just the fronts awhile back when I did the C5 front brake conversion. The only company willing to do it was Earl's, but they wanted me to give them all the dimensions so they could build me a custom set. I asked them "don't you have them, after all, you sell them" like it was a surprise to them that they sold the damn things. After getting them all the information they needed, they gave me a quote of $150 for the pair. I called Summit and ordered a full set for a C5 for $90 and just discarded the rears (I already had a set of Earl's for the OEM brake setup).

I also found all the parts needed to build my own using -3 stainless steel hose. I was just under the cost of the full set from Summit just for the pieces (around $80 - $85 if I remember correctly).

Only other source for the front lines was from LGM (from their brake upgrade kit) and they wanted $115 for the pair

I thought so too. I was told that the brake line kits are no longer made at Earl's since they were bought out by Holley - they're "outsourced". It didn't even sound like guys at Earl's ever saw them - they are sent directly from whoever is making them to Holley's distribution warehouses already labeled and boxed up ready to go.

Just go to like autozone, checker, or napa. They sell all kinds of different size brake lines. When I got my kmember I redid my front brakes lines and I just bought a really long one that went from the abs module to the front right wheel and just custom bent it myself. Then did the same thing for the front left etc.

Hes asking about soft lines, not hard.

If you look around, you can also find certain manufacturers of motorcycle brake lines. Check in the back of mags, etc. Maybe online. Just search "stainless steel brake lines" or whatever.

I guess I'll just buy the full set & sell the rears or something.

I'm doing the LS1 front brake upgrade so do I need to buy LS1 lines?

Yes, you need the 98+ F-body brake lines for your setup. If you ever upgrade to the C5 brakes, you should be able to re-use the LS1 brake lines too. If I had known how long the C5 brake lines were, I would have ordered the LS1's instead (they sit really close to the wheels and if not installed carefully will rub against them)!
