Can you Dyno with a speed limiter?
Can you Dyno with a speed limiter?
I plan on going up to a 'Dyno Day' this weekend in Cochranville, PA and i was just wondering if there is any point since i have a 115mph speed limiter. I have all of 1st gear and all of 2nd gear, but no 3rd or 4th gear since the limiter kicks in. I've never been to a dyno before so i don't know exactly what I'm supposed to do.
Do i 'drive' the car while it is dynoed, or does the dyno person do it?
Do i need hood shocks? I don't have any, i just use a broom
I don't have any mufflers, is that going to be a problem?
Thanks guys,
Shawn

Re: Can you Dyno with a speed limiter?
If you have an automatic, the dyno will be in 3rd gear. For manuals, it will be in 4th. You will not be able to dyno the car properly with a speed limiter and 2.73s.
Re: Can you Dyno with a speed limiter?
Well this guy says he has done it. I have heard sometimes you can get it up to speed fast enough that the speed limiter won't affect it. Is this true?
