Can a stock MAF go bad gradually??? Z06 MAF???
I'm thinking my POS MAF is causing my little low end hesitation especially when the car is warm. What if I wanted to do a Z06 MAF would that do me any good?? What kind of gains have ppl seen not just in power but smoothness and driveability. Also, is the Z06 physically the same size as the stocker, length wise? It's a tight fight because my MAF is relocated to the pressure side of the blower and there is not much room for the MAF to grow.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I believe they can. Me and my friend tested various Mafs on our cars we would switch and had several others to try. Some would make our BLMs horrible and others would be dead on. They were all working and were all cleaned on the wires. My car was actually on 108 BLM's and then i got another maf and put it in and they were almost perfect just by switching the Maf.

They are larger... the inlet is 4" in diameter whereas the stock one is 3.5". I believe the lenth is the same, but it maybe a little longer (~.5").
I doubt you'll see any power increase with it, although you may because you're blown.

Yes I belive your MAF can go bad gradually. My BLM's where fine in speed density but with the stock MAF they were in the 135-145 range. I bought the Z06 MAF conversion for LT1's from ls1speed.com (btw I think this kit is made by Ganatelli) and this fixed the BLM's. I measured both MAF's and the Z06 was only a touch bigger (I don't think was 0.5") but enough to make it harder to put on. And I did not pay attention to the length, but they are very similar
