Can someone in IL run Datamaster on my 93 for me?
Can someone in IL run Datamaster on my 93 for me?
I'm new to Camaros and I haven't really been able to drive mine yet that I purchased about a month ago. I was wondering if someone in the Joliet/Lockport/Orland Park, IL area could help me out and do a Datamaster to my car to find out whats wrong with it. It runs pretty crappy. I dont have one of those cables and dont know how to interpret the readings from the software anyway. Almost everyone on my block/neighborhood is into Mustangs
or classics so they cant help me out w/ my 4th gen Camaro.

Is it showing an SES light? If so, since you have a 93, all you have to do is use a paperclip or some other jumper in a couple of the pins on your diagnostic port. You can find out which pins, along with the trouble code index on Shoebox's site. I'd link to it, but I'm at work and don't have it in my favorites here.
Also, give us a description of what it's doing and how it's acting, it's probably a problem that most of us have already experienced or at least heard of.

Sounds like ignition. How old are the plugs and wires?

Plugs are maybe a couple months old at most. The P.O. changed them before I bought it. Not sure about the wires though.

One thing I learned is to never trust what the seller tells you. You will have to check it out for yourself
