can this be opti related?

when i first started it up tonight it was backfiring like crazy, then i got it started and it backfired on what sounded like the #1 cylinder everytime then it just went away revved to 1500 then back to 1000 and sat there.

my car would only stumble in warm weather like above 70* and now it seems like even during nighttime at 60* it stumbles really bad. I could have the pedal floored for about 10 seconds and it just stumbles and goes about 5mph and doesnt even catch but if i start off lightly on the throttle it might misfire 1 or 2 times but it begins to accelerate and move. havent done a spark plug change or wires in bout 3 years so that might be a cause

one quick way to tell if your wires are bad, is to look under the hood with the engine running. Must be done at night or in a dark room and look for any flushing lights around the wires and plugs.

You were nice enough to tell us about the gage you put in on 1-1-05 and the thermostat you put in on 1-13-05. But you didn't mention anything about plugs, wires, or opti when you did the extensive engine and exhaust work on 8-7-05.

Are we to assume you only list aftermarket or upgrades? And you did the ignition system recently and DON'T have 121K on the ignition? Just wondering if you put the crappy old parts back on or replaced them?

Can't help wondering what is going on with the fuel system either.

BTW, you have a great ear to hear a particular cylinder fire everytime.

yea i train my hearing extensively. yea i replaced the wires and opti with the cam stuff, fuel system is untouched and yes since we only have 100 cahracters for sigs i only list after market stuff. now lets get back to what the threads really about, is this a signature opti problem?
