Can I use a standard grade 8 bolt to mount the oil pump?

I sold my oil pump mounting bolt with the old block by mistake. Dealers are closed this weekend, so I got a grade 8 7/16-14 bolt and trimmed to proper length, and a hardened washer. Is it ok to use, or is there something special about the oil pump bolt? I can't remember if it had any unique features.

Thanks.

oil pump bolt has a shoulder to keep the pump from moving, I have seen some pumps with a standard bolt loosen up and fall off

let me look around, I should have one here

Ok, good to know. I figured that since the pump is dowell pinned, it would locate ok, but if you've seen them come off, that conclusive evidence I will need to use the right bolt. I'm not too far from you, I could make a run down today if you have one for me and you don't mind. If it is not convenient for you, I can wait till Tuesday when the dealers open.

Thanks a lot for the offer!
