can i trust a reman optispark?

hey guys, my car is in the shop now to have a new optispark put in. im trying to find the cheapest place to get one and so far 300 is the cheapest ive seen. i work for NAPA and can get a remanufactured distributor for less than 100 but i dont know if i'd trust it. have any of you ever used a reman distributor from NAPA or any other auto parts stores, and had luck with it working? i just dont wanna half-*** the job and have my car back in the shop a couple months down the road, so should i just go ahead and buy a new GM unit or chance the remanufactured NAPA distributor?

You should be fine... Im guessing however that your car is a 93... In which case I would strongly recommend upgrading to the vented style (95-97). Not much modification, but I do think there are a couple things you need to adjust.

God Luck!

Not much modification?
You have to change the CAM, timing cover, timing set, and add the vent hoses, and late electrical harness..
It's the CAM change[early cam nose is NOT drilled and also the dowel pin is shorter]] that makes it somewhat of a major swap!..

No. These guys might have gotten lucky but the odds of a reman crapping out prematurely is a lot higher than a brand new GM unit.

Belive me, I learned this the hard way with an Autozone unit that literally shut down when it got hot. THen the car would sit WHEREVER....for 30 to 45 minutes before re-firing.

AutoZone - NO!!!! The pins did not even line up on the connector.

Any where else good luck...
