Can I run Weld Pro Stars on the road legal?

Talking about 15x10 and 15x8s. I know the skinnies are not legal. Alan

Well I don't know but on my pro stars they say street legal engraved on the rears. But i would think you could if you have a street legal tire on them. HTH
I know people who drive arond on prostars with skinnies 365 days a year.

As long as you avoid bad roads your rims will survive. If you have alot of bad roads where you live I would recommend against it because Pro-stars bend very easy.

the only ones in the Pro Star line that are illegal are the 3.5" skinnies.. they are stamped "for race use only"...

but i run 'em anyways every once in a while when I don't feel like swapping back to my street wheels

My ET Fronts are stamped for DOT use...

My general understanding is most wheels are legal unless specifically designed for race use. Drag rims will often buckle under cornering if you try to use them on the street. Whether or not there is a specific designation for rims is unknown to me.

Tires are either DOT approved, for racing only, or both depending on manufacturer certifications.

Certain states may have inspection laws requiring that tires must be within a certain percentage or a specific size variation from stock. Many states require that tires be matched in terms of bias or radial on all four corners.

My car passes inspection with my skinnies on front and big tires on the rear.

Around here, the tires must be 4" wide. I used a 165 metric radial from a VW Bus for the fronts on the street. Perfectly legal.

I put Weld Pro-Stars on my 427 Cobra replica - 15x10 and 15x7. All four of them bent badly within a few months. They couldn't be straightened effectively. Big waste of money. I replaced them with Halibrand replica wheels. When I bought the Welds they were rated street legal, but by the time I replaced them the rating had been changed in their catalogue to "race use only".
