can I hit 400 rwhp?

Can anybody think of a way to get me to 400 rwhp without getting a bigger cam? Right now I'm at 375. I've got LE 2 heads and LE1 cam, long tubes, ory, VERY restrictive muffler, slp cai, stock TB, electric water pump, 1.6 rr. Thats about all the power things I can think of. THe only things I can think of are a cutout and bigger TB. I've seen people gaining 15 rwhp with stock internals from a cutout, TB has to be worth a few. Is there anything else I'm forgetting? I know there are probably better ways for the money to be spent, but saying you have 400 rhwp is just so much cooler than 399.

Get a good flowing exhaust, or cutout, and bigger TB. Maybe an uderdrive pulley, EWP, and little stuff like that. You should be able to hit 400.

is your intake ported or is it just gasket matched? I agree with josh, a bigger tb will help alot, but if your still at 350cid try to stay below the 58mm TB. and once you get more air coming in you need to get the exhaust out faster, the engine has to "poop" before it can "eat" if you know what i mean

Have you had it tuned as well? What gear are you running in the rear?

Thumbs up Re: can I hit 400 rwhp?

With that set-up you should be able to hit 400 rwhp. You need to get a better tune, ported intake and 52mm TB. What kind of catback do you have that is so restrictive? I have the LE1 package and I'm at 380, so with better flowing heads you should be able to hit close to 400 rwhp. I'm adding a ported intake and EWP and I'm gonna get a dyno tune instead of the MadZ28 tune I have right now and I'm hoping to be around 390 at least. Is this set up on a stock shortblock or does it have a lot of miles? Mine is on a new shortblock and I'm running about 11.3:1 static and just under 9.0:1 dynamic. Good luck with everything, I'm sure you will get there once it's all dialed in.

Forget the cutout, some folks are losing power with them. 2.5/3" duals, no cats, ASP 23% UD Pulley, 52-58mm TB, Aluminum driveshaft, lighten the car or ET/Trap, and dyno tune should do it.

Dyno numbers are cool when they win races, which they dont. Go hit the track and see where your at. ABA383 dyno's anywhere from 370ish to 400ish and runs mid 11's, so dont let dyno's bother you.

I believe ABA383 has an A4 too, which again skews the hp to et expectation.

Larger cam and cutout sure wouldnt hurt. You gotta add some decent mods to make up that much power.
