Can I get some help with this please!!!!

OK the rubber elbow on my AIR diverter valve (if the elbow itself isnt it) keeps getting so hot that the elbow gets very brittle and eventually starts to crumble apart. It does this like 2 days after I drive the car. I put in a 160 thermostat and thought that might be the prob so I put the stock one back in, but I dont know if it is. I might be replacing the intake gaskets next it I cant figure it out. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Sounds like the diverter on that side is bad and is overheating the rubber elbow. Get a new diverter.

Maybe the valve(s) are bad letting exhaust get them to hot?
Is it the hose attached to the black valve in this pic?

What do you mean, "keeps getting brittle and breaking off?" So this has happened before and you've already replaced it?

The diverter is allowing exhaust gases to burn up your hose. It is not supposed to let the gases flow that way. Replace the diverter.

I found a recall for this problem on my car, so i guess I get it fixed for free. But thanks everyone for the help.
