Can heads be pulled off with motor in?
Can heads be pulled off with motor in?
Look at my sig for my current problem, sending my heads out to have them fixed. Never pulled the heads out of a 4th gen and wanted to know if you can pull them out without taking the motor out?
Thanks in advance

Re: Can heads be pulled off with motor in?
no you dont have to lift.just remove the misc items bolted to the heads, manifolds, alt, ps, acc brkt, coil, valve covers. loosen rockers and unbolt heads. the bolts under the cowl can be a pain.
Re: Can heads be pulled off with motor in?
Forget trying to take the coolant crossover tube off with the heads in the car- get the heads completely unbolted from the exhaust, block and accessory bracket, then you get on one side with a buddy on the other and remove both cylinder heads at the same time. Then with the heads out of the car take the crossover tube off.
Re: Can heads be pulled off with motor in?
Im doing it right now(headgasket or cracked head), just some of the bolts under the cowl are a BITCH. This is actually my 3rd time pulling heads on an lt1, and this one is giving me the most problems w/ the bolts coming off.
