Can an Automatic Trans Am white smoke the tires?

Ok, I just bought my Trans Am a few weeks ago and have never really tried to white smoke the tires or try to flip a U from a stand still. My friend says that i cant but i really dont want to try it right now because of some intake problems. Anyway, can an 1995 Automatic Trans Am with performance shift option spin the tires and possibly white smoke em.

Thanks

Well if my stock 1995 Z28 can spend a few thousand miles with a single burnout, HELL YEAH!!!!!!! Power slides are also fun. Just dont do it unless you have a little experience. Maybe try an open parking lot before ya try it on a crowded street.

heheh if you read one of my previous posts, dont do powerslides near medians... you can learn alot about your car during high speed pursuits... and do plenty of damage as well

Go to an empty parking lot. Put the car in drive, press the brake, turn the wheel all the way to the left. Slam the gas WOT and keep the wheel cranked. See what happens.
What might happen is you blow the serpentine belt off or blow your power steering pump. Don't hold the wheel at L or R lock at high rpms.

Well, yah. I didn't mean keep the steering wheel locked, just turn it enough to get the car around. Sorry for not being more specific.
I know you did not mean any harm. I'm just trying to inform the people that don't know any better.

So my car could deffinately white smoke the tires while power braking right? But what about just punching the gas at a stop sign. What kind of damage could i do if i did this?

The reason why i am asking all of this stuff instead of going out and trying it is because i just basically dont want to be dissapointed or ruin something else on my car.

So this brings me to my next question. If i did go out and just white smoke the tires, what is the worst thing that could happen to my car? Other than the tires going up

Thanks

stop calling it WHITE SMOKING THE TIRES for one thing. the only bad things I know about is that it is really stressful on the tranny.

I think I going to go out and purple smoke my tires now.

Well what in the hell do you think the by product of rubber and friction creates? Smoke; right. So i wonder what color the smoke is that comes off of the tires?

Red, Blue or even Green?

Well i guess i could say smoke or spin the tires, but adding the white part is just a force of habit.

Sorry

it should be able to but why do it? Most people when they get these cars beat on them until they realize its a bad idea later on when all the problems hit.
