can arcing plug wires kill the ICM?
can arcing plug wires kill the ICM?
I've been tracking down ignition problems for the past week and still haven't sorted them out. However, today I realized that 3 of the 4 driver's side plug wires were arcing between each other about 2" up from the Optispark. Can was running for a couple of minutes, wasn't running great but it was running, then just dies all of a sudden and won't fire again.
I've replaced the ICM, the coil, and 2 Optisparks in the past week trying to figure this out. I went though the ignition troubleshooting article thats been posted here the best I could and didn't find anything. Up until today, if I unplugged the PCM and let it sit for a few minutes and plugged it back in it would fire again. That doesn't work anymore. I'm still getting fuel pump prime and my pressure is dead on 43.5, just no spark.
