That doesn't answer my question, niether of the links really give you much info to tell me which one is better, or turns more compression.

Re: Can anyone tell me the difference?

Your first question is very vague. "What's the difference". The answer given could have been so much as $40.00. That's a difference isn't it.

The summit listed starter is for extreme clearance which you can tell from the photo. Everything is shifted to the outside.

The second is a standard package.

The one listed on Summit is good for up to 11 : 1 compression.

The second one listed, if you clicked a little further is good for 10.5 : 1.

How can anyone say one is better than another. They are different packages giving different applications. If you wanted an opinion to start with why didn't you just say "anyone use one of these?" Then you will only get what people "feel" anyway. Has little to do with reality.

As far as sarcasm goes, I don't see it. It appeared that you knew nothing of the 2 starters to begin with since you provided no links but only numbers.

Perhaps instead of asking "which one is better?" you might ask which one is stronger? Or better yet, research it and find the answer yourself. Its there.

Re: Can anyone tell me the difference?

I appologize, my question was pretty vague. I'm just extremely frustrated because everything I do to my car lately doesn't seem to work and a 5 minute job turns into all weekend. I thought that my started gave up turning my motor, which is higher than stock compression, thats why I was looking into a new one. I wanted to stay with GM and I could find much info on that mini starter. However it turns out that my starter is okay, but its my pilot bearing that was siezed up and causing too much drag on the motor for the starter to turn it. Thank you everyone for your replies I appreciate.
