Can a 93 oil press. Be converted to a 95

can a 93 oil pressure sensor wire be converted to a 95 unit?
My 93 broke when i removed the engine, the replacement LT1 is a 95 and has it still attached.

also

What is the Wire Plug in the tail shaft of my 93' 4l60

What is it, how important is it?
The wires got pulled out of the plug when i removed the engine.
I will buy a pig tail later but i want to crank and test drive the new engine.

Answer: NO, the sensor is different inside. It will give you a false reading
But Yes, the pigtail is the same.

On a 93 z28 The oil pressure switch/sensor is connected to the Fuel pump, no oil press. the fuel pump will turn off.

not too sure about the sensor,i do know the instr.clusters are different and will not function properly in a 94-97...
the wires you pulled out are for thr VSS(vehicle speed sensor)you will want to repair that so your speedo will work and the transmission will lock-up....

when your car goes into 4th gear you will notice shortly after the gear engages the RPM will drop an additional 2-300 rpm that is (converter lock-up)....

The oil pressure sensor should not be a problem and the computer is not fed oil pressure information.

If you use the 95 oil pressure unit you will also need the 90* bend. The plug that is on the top of the block should fit where the 93 oil pressure unit goes. I can't remember if the pig tail is the same but I think it is, just remove the rubber cover.
