Camshaft identification?

There's a local guy selling what he says is an LT4 hotcam, i am interested in the purchase, it's been used a little, but my main concern is making sure it really is a hotcam. How could i identify the camshaft as being the hotcam? there is a set of numbers stamped on thevery back end journal of the camshaft as follows:

1264
2 09 (yes there's a space there)
6261

they're stamped in the back end of the cam, do camshafts have any type of casting numbers? any other way to verify what it is?

Are there any other markings on it?
Last 3 digits of an LT4 hotcam are 586..[24502586]
Any hotcam I have ever seen has those 3 digits [along with some others] stamped on the end..
My opinion is it is not a hotcam.. [I could be wrong..]
1264 or 6261 might be the last 4 digits of a GM cam p/n, but don't ring a bell with me here..
