camshaft help please!

I bought a cc306 camshaft about a year ago and I'm about to install until I read that the part number is 08-306-8. The one listed for the lt1 is 07-306-8. The one I bought is a hydraulic roller for 87 and newer motors. My question is, will this camshaft work in a 93 lt1 with a nonvented optispark?

you have a dowel pin either way (wether its for vented or nonvented). now the nonvented one is shorter than the vented one. the vented one if i recall correctly is like 0.620" and the nonvented is about half that, 0.350" or something (those are roundabout #'s (but close), but do a search to find the exact figures).theres also the difference in the hole in the front of the cam. im pretty sure the vented ones hole is larger than the nonvented ones. the pin situation is easily resolvable, be it too long or too short, adjust it or get a new pin if the hole is the "smaller" hole (nonvented hole) then youre fine. if its the larger hole, i dont know. someone else who knows more might wanna answer that. hth
