Cam without Torque Converter?

I'm finally going to bite on a cam, but I really don't want to go as far as getting a torque converter. I just want the cam for more power. The track is too far for me, so i hardly ever drag race. Is it possible to run any of the XE cams without a T/C? I was thinking of going with the cc305, but it seems more people are going with the XE 224/230. Any suggestions?

Well, you already have a torque converter, I assume. So no, you won't need to get one for the cam.

Maybe I should clarify then... I really don't want to upgrade to a higher stall T/C.

You don't need a higher stall, although you will see great improvements from it.
