Which cam for stock LT1

My thing is....if your gonna do one, might as well do the other. Why don't you just save and do the P&P on the heads and cam at the same time. Other than that go with the HotCam. Then you dont NEED to do headwork right away.

There are a couple of reasons why I'm thinking of doing the heads instead of the cam. Correct me if I am wrong but LS1 motors make awesome power out of the box not because of a huge cam but because of killer heads. That is at least part of the recipe. The other reason is that a big cam will kill throttle response, and that's something I love about this engine. With that said, what are the pros and cons of doing the heads instead of the cam

have you ever been in a car with a cc306, cc305, hotcam, xe 224/230, xe 230/236? yes the ls1 does make more power because of the heads, partly. there are a few other differences though. an lt1 is completely different. the stock cam will not respond to ported heads very well because of the low duration and lift. go with the cc305, or xe 224/230 if you want a good midsized cam. but you need to get some headers and a good exhaust before you consider a cam and headwork.
