Cam for me?

I know this has been asked countless times, but I just want to have information specific to my setup before I spend money on anything.
Right now I have a 1995 Z28 with intake and loudmouth exhaust. I will be picking up a set of longtubes tomorrow, and then I want to get a cam.
What is a decent cam for me? I'm looking for power throughout the rpm range. I want to go big right from the start, but this is a daily driver so I can't have anything that severly compromises driveability or fuel mileage. I plan on getting a set of heads, but not immediately Within a couple of months though. Also, as far as a timing chain set goes...I think I want to go with the Extreme Duty set, even though it costs a bit more. My question is what RPM is that timing set good for? I'm not going to be road racing or anything like that, but I do want to be able to rev as high as need be to squeeze every bit of power from the cam/heads setup and not have to worry about the chain failing. So what cam suggestions do you guys have and what RPM is the Extreme Duty chain good for?

Maybe a cc305, I hear good things about it in daily driven cars, I perfer radical setups, ie cc306 in a daily driver.

Definitely consider an XE.

I went with the 224/230 112, 1.6 pro mags.

Great power band, easy to live with everyday, sounds great.. I've been very happy with it.

I do have an A4 though, if you have a stick you may might consider bumping up to a 230/236. There are a few folks on here with both cams, I'm sure some will chime in today.

Thanks guys. Anyone with the 230/236 drive with it daily? How is it? How is the gas mileage(not that big of a concern, just curious)? What kind of power are you making with it?

I have the 230/236 in my daily driver it has been tuned and still has cam surge. I wouldn't recommend the cam unless you have gears and you would probably want heads too. I would recommend the 224/230 my friend has it on his stock headed car and it pulls pretty hard plus i have heard of it pulling close to 375rwhp with heads too if you want to upgrade.
