Cam help...A4, stock heads, 6500 shift point
Well,
I'm thinking about getting a cam this spring.
Car is a 1996 Trans Am
automatic, 2800 stall, 373's, longtubes, 3 inch exhaust, basicly all of the bolt-ons. It will be going on a diet soon and lose AC and receive a Madman rack and BMR k-member and lighter seats later on.
The car is not a daily driver and isn't being smogged at this time.
It'll probably be a 50/50 street/strip car.
The heads will be untouched for now, but I might get some ported LT4's when I graduate next year if funds permit. I don't want to spin past 6500 rpm's either.
I see great results with a setup like mine both from small cams like the Crane 210-224 and big cams like the CC306 all with a decent stall converter and stock untouched heads. I would love a rough idle like the CC306 has. I definitely want the car to be noticed. I'm willing to get the torque converter restalled as high as a 3600 also.
I guess I'm looking for opinions and also want to know what you have and how it runs at the track. tia.

Custom grind. Cost is in the same ballpark, but the return on investment is greater when you get just what you're looking for.
SStrokerAce on this board is who I'd contact.
