Cam Dowel Pin Length?? CC306

I am putting a 306 in my car and realized that the cams pins and optis hate each other. I have a 94 Z28 with a NON vented opti and a new CC306. Do I have to pull that pin out and put my stocker in??? Or am I cool?

I just put a new DynaSpark opti on my 97. AS I recall DynaSpark states that the Max height is .620" (face of cam to tip of dowel). This is a little shorter than the GM specs. I had to grind the dowel down to get it within specs.

I didn't have to do anything to the pin when I put the cam in my car. If you have a vented opti, you have to pull the pin out a bit. You should be fine.

I believe that GM says .675" is max. on 95+. But someone needs to verify this.

I thought it was interesting that DynaSpark wants no more than .620".
