which cam to choose
which cam to choose
i am planning on putting a cam in my car over the winter. first off, i am on a budget and i drive the car everyday but i wont as much if i do a cam swap. i was thinking of the lt4 hot cam kit. but im not too sure now. i would like to put lt's on, new timing chain, sprockets, opti, wp, etc. i dont want to crazy of a cam. but i want it to have a little extra power. i plan on also porting the intake manifold and getting my heads ported a little bit. what do you guys reccomend? mods in sig
Re: which cam to choose
if your on a budget i wouldnt take the heads off to port them "alittle bit".
I wouldnt buy the hotcam kit because it comes with self aligning rockers and weak springs. I used the cc305 with non self aligning which i enjoyed quite well.
U can gasket match the intake manifold yourself that might give u a few horses.
Getting long tubes will require u to get teh Y pipe and O2 extensions.
With Long tubes, and a cam you'll pick up a good 50 horses with the car running right/tune.
But it never stops.. soon your doing heads, putting on nitrous, selling your house, divorcing your wife and stealing candy from the neighbor kids to feed your addiction...
