Cam affect on milage

Cam affect on milage

Has anyone notice a loss of milage after intalling a cam in excees of a 2 mpg

Didn't really do a before and after comparison, but with the HOTcam, ported heads and stall I got about 22 mpg. 3/4 of that was on the interstate, and 1/4 was in stop and go driving.

It really depends on how hot the cam is, but if your that worried about losing 2 mpg, you shouldn't really be looking at a camshaft swap as your next mod.

Question IS has anyone lost MORe than 2 mpg. I've seen some cars go down to 8mpg after a cam swap.
