Cam for 94 rebuild

Hi, I was wondering if somebody would point me in the right way for buying a little bigger cam for my 94. I have been looking at the lt4 hot cam kit but dont know for sure. Any help would be great. I am having the heads and intake ported slightly. I would like to find something that would make a good dd.

The cam that I was running in my 355 and now running in my 383 is a 230/236 .51/.52 112LSA comp cam. This was the perfect size for the 355 with ported heads, however is a bit small for my 383. Great low end torque and revs to about 6300.

Most people would need to know more than you have supplied first, but here are the quick ones. First what is your budget, what are your goals, street car, 1/4 mile only, etc.
Next you say the engine is out, why? How many miles? Do you care about miles per gallon? Does your car need to pass emissions? So you see there is a lot more info required before answering your basic question. I'm guessing since your car is mostly stock a hot cam kit would be a nice addition for your car. Anything above that and you start to need a lot more to make it work, such as a tune and more.
Since the engine is allready out, that will make the job much easier. HTH

Ok well The car is gonna be a street car that I can still take to the track and run pretty good. The engine is being rebuild because the previous owner said it had a blown head gasket. gas milage is not a problem. No emissions. Im looking to put down at least 350rwhp. I am planing on getting a tune by madz28.

The comp cam I will take a look at will I have to upgrade the rollers or lifters ect. I no with the lt4 hot cam it all comes in a kit. also where could i buy this cam at?
Thanks for the info

I think you can get the hot cam kit from summit. You can get almost all comp cams from there as well.

If you can afford it, get the CC503 with all of the valvetrain upgrades. This means 1.6 Pro Mag rockers, chromemoly pushrods, guideplates, rocker studs, etc.

The key is not to skimp anywhere on the bottom end so that you can have a much better top end. If you can't afford quality on both, save more money and do the top end later on. That way, you have a good foundation for whatever you want to do later.
