Which Cam?

i cant decide between which cam! Its down to either cc305 or lt4 hot cam! which one is better?? Which one will give me more power. I dont have to worry about emissions so thats not a big deal. Also, which one has a rougher idle?

If emissions aren't a problem, why are you choosing such a small cam? Trust me, you will want to go bigger.....I started out with the Hotcam and now I'll be swapping it for the 306 in a couple of weeks.

Because i dont want to get into anything crazy. my car is a daily driver. I dont plan on putting a cam in until i rebuild the motor. I am doing the heads at the same time so...I want a good low 12 high 11 second car. I think i can do it with either of these cams. Does the cc306 have a rough idle??

I've got one word for you, my friend... Search!!! Do a search and you'll find TONS of info on this subject.
With that being said, the CC305 idles a bit better than the Hotcam, at least from what I've read. This is due to the CC305's wider LSA; 114 versus 112 for the Hotcam.
I can tell you, I sure like my cam (it's in my sig). It has a nice chop to it at idle, and the car goes like a cheetah on PCP! Oh yeah, I get over 27mpg on the highway on a stock tune with 3.73 gears. Not many people have the cam I have, because on paper, it's very similar to the Hotcam. I guess you just have to do your homework though .

The Comp Cams XE 224/230 is a great cam. It's also on a 112 lsa. So it will give you that nice lopey idle like the Hot Cam. You can purchase the kit from Combination Motorsports. Here is a link.

It's part# NCC-224XL
XTREME

I've heard nothing but good things about this cam.

Look at my sig. This is my daily driver. Idles a little rough, but I put it in neutral at stops anyway. DO the 306, you won't regret it later.

BTW, that link is for just the cam. But that's all you should need if your going with new heads. If you want the kit just email them and tell them. I think it's $578 for the kit.
