calipers

how do you know when you need new calipers? My pads and rotors need replacing but I'm not sure if the calipers should be replaced as well?

Thanks, Rob

Rarely would you need new calipers. If you have mega miles, you might consider rebuilding them with a GM kit. (Under $20), but if they aren't leaking, and replacing the pads and rotors, the wear parts) gives you back normal braking, you probably don't need rebuilt calipers.

You might consider changing/flushing the brake fluid during or after your pad and rotor change. Follow the service manual directions, bleeding the master cylinder first.
