CAI or not?

I have a 94 Firehawk (Ramair of course), and I am curious to if an aftermarket CAI will provide better results than the SLP air intake box right now. And if so, what is the best brand to go with?

the FH setup i think is pretty efficient...not much in the way of direction changes for the air to flow. so i bet the gains would be very minimal. probably not enough to feel.

i say save the money and keep the nostolgia of the stock RA setup

does the firehawk have the upgraded exhaust?? if not i would start with that. or at least install a cutout.

then i'd look into either some suspension mods or headers

You know, im kind of in the same boat. I have a 97 SS and have often wondered about doing a CAI, but of course, my setup has to loop over the intake and heat up. Its probably not near as efficient as your straight "ram air" setup.

I have a 96 SS and took the stock setup off to save it from heat cracks it was startng to get. I also wanted to see my new powder coated intake and holley TB so I replaced it with a moroso unit. I felt no difference. I wouldn't waste money changing over on the SS. On the Firehawk I have seen people open up the factory airbox more with a airsaw to increase flow.
