Exclamation Caddy Racing Lifters?

I have a set of caddy racing lifters on my lt4 with comp pro mag roller rockers. I adjusted them 0 lash and 1 turn. They are extremely noisy and I was wondering if they are all this noisy or is the preload off? I ran these last year and thought they were quieter than what they are.. Any info besides buy new lifters is appreciated. Thanks

You did one full turn after 0 lash? That could be it right there, usually its 1/4-3/4- on the max. I do 1/2 turn after zero lash.

Well I started at 1/2 a turn and it was still noisy. I have 3in xpipe dumped with longtubes and I can hear the ticking over my car when im driving with the windows down. Would to much preload cause them to be noisy?

A few other things can also contibute to valvetrain noise, valve springs, agressive ramps on the camshaft, and the Comp Pro Magnums are noisy.

I agree. Try 1.5 TPZL.

They key point is that the Caddy lifters apparently require quite a bit of preload compared to other lifters even the LS7 ones.

I am running the Caddy lifters and am at 1TPZL now.

most people settle around 1/4 past 0 lash

something else is causing your issue, but being set at 1 turn i would think will also cause a problem. what other components are you using

I have a similar setup with the stock lifters, and my valvetrain is noisy also.

I turned the to 1/2 turn and not as bad at a idle, but when it gets up around 3k and above they start getting really noisy. Will this cause valvetrain damage or is it just gonna be noisy?

Friend of mine had them and it sounded like CONSTANT piston slap! Never went away until he changed lifters...

I have tried 1/4 turn to 1-1/4 turn past 0 lash and still noisy on the drivers side. Not to bad when its cold, but when it warms up it gets bad. Sounds like a bad exhaust leak when im driving it. Bad lifters? I ran them last year and they was fine, just re-installed them..

I must be the exception - I have caddy lifters and run them at 1/8 turn. No problem with noise.

You're not the exception...I'm at 1/8 turn past zero lash as well. I run Crane Gold roller rockers, though.
