A/C Heater probs
Up to now my A/C was blowing really cold, about 4-5 mths ago I put in a new compressor, dryer, valve did vacuum, oil, freon the works, all new. Today I had the engine idling so I turned on the A/C and moved the temp **** to heat just to get the system to work in heat mode for a while since it hardly ever gets used for heat here in Sth. Florida..moved the **** back to cold and damn!!it will not blow cold air!!! All I get is warm air!!! Now I don't have A/C
I can hear the compressor clicking on but NO cold air..I swear I'm gonna shoot this MF car!!
Anyone have an idea what's up with this?? Please lmk fast!!
Thanks

History would help. Why did you replace the compressor etc?
Do you know if the vent deflector doors are changing position?
do you have the problem of little or no air coming out of the dash vents when you jump on the throttle? Let us know

I don't want to hi-jack your thread, but I just put a cam in my car (dormant for about 7 months), and now my A/C doesn't turn on. More confusingly, the air will not blow out of the front vents, it seems to be blowing mostly out of the defrost area....
I suspect maybe my refrigerant (R-134?) leaked out over the 7 months of wiggling and beating on stuff. But would that make the vents not move?
Could a vacuum leak on the motor cause enough vacuum loss to make the vents not move?
Help, I hate A/C stuff and I'm clueless.

History: I changed the compressor because the original one busted, the car has 105K miles so that was kinda "expected". Since I'm keeping the car I went ahead and replaced everything using brand new AC Delco parts. The compressor is a brand new (not reman) AC Delco unit. Up to yesterday when I flipped the temp **** to "heat" the system was perfect, quiet and blowing cold.
Slopo: I'm gonna check the vents as I seem to be getting air comming out from underneath the dash ...mmmm Are these vacuum or electrically controlled?? (vents)
Also on the lines in the engine compartment (high/low pressure) one is hot and the other is really cold (as expected) I can hear the "click" from the compressor engaging.
Thanks all!

I went out and started the car (had been sitting since last night), turned on the A/C and got cold air, then slowly the air started to warm up, if I rev the engine cooling stops and then all I get is warm air ....so what is it!?!?!
Thanks
Thanks
Could be a lot of things. One thing that comes to mind is if the refrigerant level is low, the evaporator coil will freeze up and the air can no longer go through the evaporator. This then blows warm air. Also cars have a valve called thermal expansion valve. These are notorious for going bad. Especially if the system has had a leak and moisture has contacted the inside of the valve. Even if the system is evacuated and the moisture is removed, the damage is done to this valve.
You can check all these problems with a simple pressure check of both the high and low sides of the A/C system.
As far as the other question about air slowing down in the vents do this. Put the air controls on fast and set them in the Bi-level position. Take it for a ride. See if when you jump on the throttle, the air seems to slow down quite a bit from the vents blowing straight out of the dash. When the car speed settles to a cruising speed the air will return. If this happens, you have a vacuum leak. I had one and spent days fixing it.
