Angry a/c fuse keeps blowing!! Need help

I dont know what is going on but it is driving me crazy, all of the sudden one day, out of nowhere the a/c fuse blew on me, i thought to myself oh well no big deal ill jut replace it. So thats what i did about ten times over just to keep me cool until i could figure out what the hell the problem was. Well i tried switching relays and that didnt do anything and i looked for leaks and couldnt find any. So im stuck her in this horrible ga. humind weather and no a/c. It will turn on but no cold air, blow nothing but warm air and it really starting to tick me off. Tonight with the a/c on i replaced the fuse once more and i could immediatley here the copressor come on and start blowing cold air. Also one of the times that i replaced the fuse a little smoke started coming out from behind the steering wheel. I dont know if that has anything to do with it but i thought that was pretty weird. Please guys give me a clue on where to start looking.

Thanks,
Heath

Looking at http://shbox.com/1/hvac_compressor_control.jpg (thanks shoebox), I can think that A/C clutch somehow getting grounded depending on temperature/vibration. Check your wires too.

Cruise control is powered by the same fuse. That's where your smoke is coming from and your short.
