A/C diagnostic help

whats up yall. my a/c wasnt working on my 95 z28. so i tried to recharge it but it wasnt sucking in the 134. so i pulled the relay and jumped the compressor. then it sucked in the gas and it blew cool, but not very cool. not like it should be. anyway i put in a new relay but the compressor still wouldnt kick on. the only way for my a/c to work is if i keep a jump wire in the relay spot. My only guess is that i somehow have to reset the pressure cut-off switch. which i dont even know how to do. (if that is the problem)

Well im not sure if thats it or not but thats the only thing that i can think of. if u guys can help me that would be great. thanx

Re: A/C diagnostic help

If your system was empty then I would suspect a leak. Did you repair the leak first ? I just fixed a leak on my Z last week, then I vacuumed system, then charged it and did not have to jump any relay. I turned on the a/c and waited patiently for the a/c to kick on and off and it slowly drained the first can of refrigerant, then hooked up second can and a/c started to work more normally cycling like normal. Then hooked up 3rd can and added 1/2 can. Works great now, system holds 2 pounds.. so 2 & 1/2 12oz. cans topped my system off. Hope this will help you out a bit.
