Busted, host my pic

I tore down the motor today, and a plate under the oil pump is busted in half... How in the hell would that happen? if someone can host a pic for me please. the engine ran fine.. I was shocked to find it.

Looks like the spacer where the oil filter goes, prolly something got in between the filter/plate and when tightened created a stress point wher eit eventually cracked.

hmm that is interesting, I didnt find any debris or anything under it, that was actually one of the things I DIDNT touch on the car... I guess it pays to do it yourself eh?
