Bushing help needed ASAP

I have been fighting a suspension build on my 94 Z28. I finally defeated the rust that had EVERYTHING welded together, everythings painted and ready to go back on. Now I'm Having trouble with the new bushings. I got a complete prothane kit and the directions for the front are missing. When I talked to the guy that I ordered the kit from he said I would have to remove all the metal parts for the front and reuse them. Do to the evil rust I was unable to remove the bushings intact so I bought new ones and removed all of the rubber(prothane suggested this when I called them). The front ones(horizontal) went in fine, no problems, but the rear(verticle) ones will not go into the metal shell. They look like they don't use the shell at all, the top is a big mushroom piece and the bottom looks like a cup and they look like you just press them into the control arm without the shell. Has anyone used this kit? Any help is greatly appreciated I need to get this done today!

Also on the rear control arms the kit comes with "thrust bushings" that are basically poly washers that go around the backside of the bushings. They don't want to fit but I think I can pound them in, if they are worth using.

The vertical ones on the lower control arm, the outer shells have to go, the horizontal aouter shells stay.

make sure you use alot of poly lube, other wise they will make noise, i know mine do

Thats what I was thinking. The guy on the phone said I would have to reuse ALL metal parts. That would have saved me a day of burning/pounding and about $20 worth of new bushings that are now trash.

Thanks alot guys! It's finally back together and off for alignment tomorrow. I'm just glad it's done, I think that was tougher than the header install, but it's done so I can check one more off the list.
