Ha your dad was probably just trying to use reverse pyschology on you. "No son your car will not roast the tires down to the steal belts." So you think "Oh no, my car won't roast em so why try." Your car should lay down some serious rubber. If its a 6 speed put her in 2nd rev to a comfortable rev, drop the clutch then add a little brake to keep her from moving. If you got the auto just power brake it. You will enjoy the results! Be careful though because if some of your friends know you can light em up then they might ask you to turn em over every time they see you. One of my friends last year everytime he seen me in the parking lot of school he would point to me and make a burnout motion with his fingers or just be like hey light em up.

RKPsk8er- Funny you say that about your friend. I wasn't trying to peel out but today leaving school I caught 2nd and got all kind of crazy and bout hit a road sign but I saved it thank God!

 

Yea you should'nt have any problems doing one...I didnt haha let the clutch out around 2k, flip the clutch foot to the break quick, and let em smoke!!!

 

haha. my dad knows not to try reverse psychology on me. im too hard headed to give up. but I do know what you mean about doing it in front of my friends. I already have about 3 people begging me to let them drive it. they are crazy as hell if they think thats happening

 

okay so today my dad was "SO SURE" that it would spin both that I had to go test it out. I was right haha. I got my friend(the one that ran into a stop sign) to record it on his cell phone. I tried to bet him a set of tires that it would spin 'em both but he didn't answer.

 

my 96 did sweet burnouts stock, but the tires were a little shot. I replaced them, and then it was a little harder on it because of the new tread. After i got the Mad Z/28 Tune it was said by a tooooon of his customers that the power increased and there was no problems burning out...i stand behind this 100%, it burns the new tires just as well as it did the old ones not to mention with the mods i've done to it, it makes a sweet line of power. I agree do not get into the habbit of doing it, but once in a while have your fun and rip it up! Cloud an empty road, or slap it sideways out onto the street. Just be careful and safe as possible, especially when just learning to do either of these tricks.

 

Hahah yea a EMPTY parking lot is a good start. I still get nervous ****ing around on regular roads ... Ya never know when a deer, or a turkey, or a deaf/****ing stupid person will jump out in front of ya. Or what the driver in the other, who panics when he sees your car spinning the tires, might do.

Chill out, take your time, and learn to do it in a EMPTY parking lot. You'd be suprised at some of the stupid **** I have seen happen to idiot friends trying to show off ...

My favorite is pulling into someone's driveway that you know, telling them that you have something for them, and then smoke em so good you can't see the person

 

I saw someone mess up a pretty nice Ram Air in an empty Cingular parking lot hitting a light post.

 

How about back alley? I always liked those. No cops, very few people, no poles

haha, right on man! Looks like ya did a number on those tires. I gotta keep mine untill end of season, then i should roast em off. Hopefully i can get a video like urs.
