Broken valve spring= No start?
Broken valve spring= No start?
I have had a no start problem for awhile, if I let it set for a few days it will
start and die right away.
I changed fuel pump, coil, icm, plugs and wires.
Problem still exist. I pulled the driver side valve cover and found one broken
valve spring.
I know that is for sure a problem, but would this cause my no start problem? With all the discussion lately about adjusting valves with Comp "R" lifters, I'm almost sure I adjusted them to tight.
I think I adjusted the valves way too tight and caused the broken spring and
the broken spring along with the other valves being too tight is causing the no start problem. Anybody think I'm right, or is the broken spring a different problem?

Re: Broken valve spring= No start?
My friend with an LS1 broke a Comp 918 and the car started. Another guy I know broke a valve spring, LS1 as well and the car had performance issues but other wise started.
