Broken main cap

I Have an 95 LT1 2 Bolt block but one of the caps were broke, I had the block magnaflux and it was ok, I called a dealership and they said they dont have a listing for just main caps, Iam asking does anyone know were i can get a set (perferably new), If you know, what is the part # , or what other options do i have.

Please if any one can help, Iam about to buy a set of milodon caps for $200.00 are they worth it. I Dont want to spend that much for caps if i dont have to.

I think that price is fine but from what my machine shop has told me you will need to have that block line bored now.
I don't know if you can get another used stock cap and then just have it line honed. It would save you some money.

That really sucks that the block has a broken main cap, but if you want to run the block whatever you do it will need to be line honed. I feel that while you have it all apart and have to go through the trouble that you should get some splayed caps put on and bite the bullet so you will have nothing to worry about further down the road. I know its big money, but so is trashing an engine, its just extra insurance. BTW I am a machinist in an automotive machine shop, so I do know a little on the subject.

unless hes shooting for pretty radical hp numbers or supr high rpm i feel its a waste of time.

Dont you think it would be wise to ask him his goals before telling him to spend gobs of money needlessly?
