Re: broken exhaust bolt

Ya either buy headesr or Take the manifold off and torch the bolts off be carefull try to be as acurate as possible. I had to do this on my friends 98 trans am worked out for me. I welded new regular hex bolts to the manifold after i cut the old ones. This way i didnt have to worry about holding them up top with a wrench i just tighten the nut from the bottom . The best way to get old bolts off is by heating them up red hot then spray them down with water.

I had that happen took it to an exhaust shop and had them torch them. Now the studs are all angled wrong, the y-pipe will not come off and some of the tips are striped from me trying to get them off. So from my experiance I'd say f@$( it and get some headers and a custom y-pipe.

Re: broken exhaust bolt

bah, the quick ghetto fix is to go buy a small c-clamp, and get it as tight as humanly possible. check it every couple of weeks since heat and vibration will cause it to loosen over time. i used this in my z and have had no problems, 1 1/2 months so far. my brother has had one on his parisienne for like 5 months, no problems.
