If you sand or file a little material off of the end of the tube that goes into the pan, it slides in like a champ.

look from under the car and you'll see a flat spot with small 1/4 inch I think hole in it for the dipstick to bolt to..

The ol electrical tape fix! I did that on mine to get back from cali... It only works so long I would say you should replace the wires and I bet your shaking goes away get a good set of accels or what ever everyone recommends.. I myself like the msd super conductors and have never had a problem with them but everyone else around here trash talks them so?!?! take your pick.. I also hear the Taylors are great as well... Use some zip ties to hold the wires out of the way or just buy an over the valve cover kit. Good Luck and newbie and I are sorry for high-jacking your thread

hmmmm maybe try crushing it with vice grips and twisting it out like you would open a can of sardines. or shove a paper towel in there and drill a hole in the side of it so you can get a screwdriver in there to twist it out. or if you can get a flat screwdriver on the lip of the dipstick where it seats on the block maybe you could get a hammer on the screwdriver and pound it out. I really think drilling the hole and twisting it will loosen it up. One other thing I just thought of try hitting the dipstick on the side of it with a rubber mallet maybe that will loosen it up a bit.. hope that helps

Re: Broken Dipstick during header install

wow this is really brutal... yea i am known for thread jacking sorry... had a question of meduim relevance...

but umm... I also have had wire problems, and yes the elctrical tape only works so well... i donno about burnt wires but wires messed up by the pulleys... yea i have the taylors OVK, but i really ought to get something better cause i didnt make those wires very well... they dont get as much power to the cylinders as my old spark plugs did (the ones w/ elctrical tape)

so yea i donno about your dipstic, but if there is 5 quarts of oil, you should be fine, if u scortched your wires thats what is causing the stumble
