Broken battery tray how hard to install new one..??

I guess the part isn't too expensive but wondering someone said this job is a nightmare but not sure he actually had done it.So has anyone bought a new battery tray.I realize it top of coolant tank.If its huge trouble then likely order some strap from think it was classic industries .My problem is ridge is broken off but other than that the tray seems fine.Just lets the battery slide around front to back.I think it has to be tight to pass local safety check.

Iv changed 2 of these and it only took me about 45 minutes tops a piece, just make sure you get everything tightned back up and you its really easy . The bitch of time i had the worst was getting the battery undone, lol.

Takes like 5 min. Disconect battery and remove. Disconect hose at radiator cap. Lift entire unit straight up. Are you re using the same hose/pipe? If so pull up on it and remove and reuse rubber grommet that is in the hole. Re install new one fill and replace battery. You will see it is very easy. While everything is out give it a good cleaning where the battery and tank was.

Ya, I'm by no means mechanically inclined and I found it to be very easy. The part I ordered from gmpartsdirect.com didn't come with the rubber fitting the metal tube fits in (you'll see when you pull it apart), and I couldn't get the damn rubber piece out. Soo, I cut the old tray/overflow in half with a hack saw and pushed it out from the inside. Took me about 30 minutes.

I've replaced mine, took all of 5-10 minutes, very easy. took longer to reset all my radio settings than it did to replace the damn tray/overflow

I fabed a new hold down (the lip that broke off) out of some aluminum I had laying around. Used some small bolts and JBweld to attach it and it holds better than new and looks just fine. This way I dont have to worry about breaking it again when I am slinging the car through the twisties!

I went the strap route. The stock design is poor and it's just going to break again.
