Broke Tranny mount......AGAIN....
I just broke my transmission mount for the second time in the past year. I was launching hard out of Burger King, when SNAP!....then POP!....that was the sound of the tranny rocking off the mount and hitting shiz...I was just wondering if any of you guys have had this problem? I also want to know if there is an upgraded mount out there I should buy...Thanks,

i heard of a 1le tranny mount but i thought i also heard alot of guys didn't like it and they were switching back to stock.
I also broke my tranny mount, replaced with a crappy one, and broke that the same week as well. Definitely make sure you get a polyurathane one. Mine also hasn't had any problems whatsoever. Also I don't think it's harsh at all. Feels just like any other trans mount, but with the reassurance that it won't break.
kain mine was that bad when I put the ES poly mount in....it was horible. maybe my driveline has more vibration than yours. it wasn't even fun to drive the car anymore with it in there and I drive 100 miles a day. someone said that the 1LE mount is now cross referenced and is the same as the normal mount. I was also told to try the mount for the LS1's well the only one they had listed for that was the ES poly mount. so I jsut got a lifetime warrenty stock one and figure I will jsut end up changing it once or twice a year!! doens't take that long....30 minutes and that is time to get ramps and tools out and everything and put all of it away after also.

Heh, try 2 broken tranny mounts (3 in total) in ONE WEEK!
Now try a Energy Suspension Tranny Mount and NEVER think of breaking one again!!!
Alittle bit of vibration, but WELL WORTH IT to not have to worry about it again (IMO)
Good luck!

Just curious... if you're breaking tranny mounts, doesn't that point to another issue?
I'm assuming that the mount breaks because the transmission is rotating and shearing the rubber. So, since the tranny is bolted to the motor, doesn't that point to the motor mounts being weak and not properly restraining the motor, which then allows the motor/tranny to rotate and snap the tranny mount?
Maybe it's just me, but if I kept breaking tranny mounts, I'd be looking somewhere else for the root of the problem.

Heck, what does it take....like 15 minutes total to replace the stock mount? So, who cares if it has to be replaced 2x a year....(less investment than an oil change)...besides, they only run $12 at NAPA.

I paid $29 for mine at auto zone, but it has a lifetime warrenty so when it breaks I take it back and get a new one!!! never have to pay for it again. but I kinda see where NUKE61 is comming from....if it keep breaking maybe something else is wrong!! my car did have 130K on it though so was probably time for it to break anyway....and the new one hasn't broke YET so lets see how long it lasts
My stock one busted this summer too and I'm just getting around to replacing it now. I've been doing some research on it and I think I'm going with the 1LE. This is supposedly the same one that is on the LS1's. As a matter of fact, I believe I read that this is the only mount that the dealer has now.
Anyway, SLP has it for $20 !

ever since i bought the car two years ago.....at first i went through a few mounts.... like 3 in 2 months.
my friend had a polyurathane its tough but it still snapped
i went with the energy suspension mount it hasn't broken since i bought it.
but on the negative side you do feel a lot more vibration the faster you go the more vibration.
but you get use to it, i did, and it saves you the annoying pain of having to change one everytime it snaps... could be a week, could be months.
if you drive 120+ often and for long periods of time get a LS1 mount.

I fully disagree with this statement. I tried the poly mount and the car ran like a$$. The Energy Suspension mount was about 1/8" taller than the stock one. After I installed it.....the car vibrated a lot and made some strange sounds at WOT. I placed another stock one in.....and no more of those problems.

NAPA is exactly the store I'm talking about with crappy mounts. I bet there's plenty of people who use poly mounts and don't notice any noises
I just replaced my factory mount w/ an ES one and feel more viberation but , I think part of that maybe because of the u-joints, being the old ones, or a out of balance driveshaft. But I definetly like the ES mount better, it feels like it is putting more power down because it is a better mount.
I'm pretty hard on my car and it took 6 years to break my original one. I then bought an energy suspension one put it in for about 6 miles, and decided I was on my way to autozone to get a stock replacement. That ES one transferred every vibration in the drivetrain to the body. The replacement is working fine after 5 months. the only vibration now is a good one , it's the dusted mustangs H pipe fadeing behind me in the distance.

ing about though, it isn't that bad.
