Broke a rocker stud

sucks, but at least I already have my 7/16 studs and non self aligning roller rockers, chromeoly push rods, and guideplates ready to go, guess this is the incentive to git r done

Any guess as to what could've caused it, I shift at 5700, can you make the poly locks too tight? I am running lt4 springs and the rockers are 1.6 SA proforms(changing over to comp pro mags(NSA) with arp 7/16 studs)

It broke at idle pulling in to my driveway and the rockers have been on for over 1500 miles, just curious as to how it could break on a stock cam, and it was the number 3 intake rocker if that helps.

They were stock 3/8s studs btw

Did it damage the valve? Look on the top of the valve for it being rounded on the side. The rockers may have been too tight or the stud might have been old.

The valve is okay, I did a 1/2 turn past zero lash, how tight are you supposed to make the poly lock?

Were they ARP? Did you have at least half an inch of thread passing through the rocker arm into the poly lock?

They were stock, GM, screwed in 1996, 3/8 rocker studs, I don't think I had a half inch of thread screwed into the poly lock, I'll have to check when I get home.

The new ones I have are 7/16 arp
