Broke one of my Crane 99846 valve springs.... what to do for a replacement?

Well I decided to really lay into the ol' B4C today on a nice flat stretch of freshly paved county road and I got into the top of 4th gear and I heard a tapping. So I killed the engine and coasted to a stop. Once stopped I fired the engine to hear it again. I knew it was either a valve spring or a rocker had hopped off. So I pulled the valve cover and sure enough one of my 50,000 mile Crane 99846 springs had died. So I pulled both rockers and push rods and the injector connector from the #4 cylender and headed home. I hopped on summit racing to order a new spring just to get me by till I can pull the top end apart again. I went to check out and the dang valve springs are back ordered till August!!! So now I dont know what to do. I dont plan on racing the car anymore till I get a fresh set of springs in there cause I know the rest arnt going to last much longer. Does anyone have any idea what spring is compairable to the Crane 99846 "Valve Springs, Single, 1.255 in. Outside Diameter, 428 lbs./ in. Rate, 1.100 in. Coil Bind Height" There are the spec on the springs. I was wondering if an LT4 spring wouldnt work "ok" for now just to drive the thing to work and back. No high RPM for sure. Sorry for my rambleing. If anyone has any suggestion please let me know asap sence this is my primary driver. Thanks ALOT!

99893-16
Those should hold the 306 with no problems.

I just check those out. They would work fine. But Im in a tight spot right now. I start a new job next monday and Im kinda short on cash so I cant afford to buy a whole set of springs. Those 99893's are duel springs with a 1.43 diameter and I dont think my retainers will work and I dont know if they will fit in the stock pockets. I kinda just need a spring that is similar to the 99846's to get me by for a week or two till my cash flow situation settles down and I have a time to change all them out. Thanks for the suggestion though. I might look into those 99893's to replace the 99846's when I get some extra money.

I'm running the 99893's in the stock pockets, I just had to grind the seats a little bit. And I know the LT4's will just be asking for trouble with the cc306, im not sure what other spring you could go with right now.

Yeah I figured the LT4 springs would be a bad idea with the CC306 cam. But I dont know what to do. Im kinda screwed sence summit and jegs dont have the 99846's in stock.

Take a look at the Crane 10308 springs. They will work with the cc306 and fit inside the stock seats.

Ok I finally found a spring compairable to what I have and that summit has in stock. Its the K-Motion K-750's. From the specs it alittle stiffer but it is rated at a shorter installed hight than the Crane 99846's. Do you think this will work as a temporary fix till I can afford to buy a whole set of new springs? Thanks alot guys!
