broke down today

broke down today

something is wrong with my car . i was riding out the road to get some money so i could buy mystall and my car just died . so i started it back up and it started so i put it in gear it just stop run . then i let it set and it sarted up for a min and died again . so i just waited a couple min and tryed to start it up and it wouldnt start at all. does anyone know what it could be . please help

did it give you any symptoms other than not starting?

how was it cranking?

did the lights dim

would it crank

would it fire?

need a little more info

Sounds like your out of gas. LOL. As stupid as it sounds it happened to me when i first got my car. The gauage will be a bit above E when there is no gas. Check the obvious stuff first.

it was cranking over fine just wouldnt start. the lights didnt dim or anything. sometime it will crank over and start right up and sometime it will just crank over . i dont knoe if this has to do with what it is doing now . but sometime when im sitting at a light with the car in drive it will try to rev up and it trys to push the car with me on the brakes . o yea i know its not out of gas i just put 20 dallors in it last night

that revving and at the lights is the symptom i was looking for

your optispark is done

thats exactly what mine did

well that really sucks . it just had a new one put one about a year ago. is there anyway to check it

stick a screw driver in a plug wire and see if there is spark?

or get a diagnostic done?

there are probably better answers than that but they should work

i tryed that already it is getting spark . she just stared right up a couple of mins ago and shut off on me then i started it up and she ran fine i couldnt get it to shut off on me

how can i check it . i hook up a fuel pressure gauge and i had 38 psi to it .

Is this now that it is running again or when it was not running? It would help to have all the information so people can make intelligent and useful suggestions.
