Is breaking 13 Possible with the following:

In my heavy A4 Vert on Firestone Wide Oval Tires:
3000 Stall
3.73 Gears
CAI/Magnaflow/!CAT
MAC Mid's
Custom Tune
Other stuff noted in Sig

I know it'll possibly sink me into the low 13's, think i'll be breaking into the 12's? Has anyone been in the 12's with similar mods? I know some nice sticky tires would really help but just wondering if its possible on the firestones

If you don't get into the 13's with a setup like that, something is seriously wrong. I ran 13.92 with just a CAI.

you "should" but you might not due to traction. Get some drag radials and you'll see 12's all day long

Yea a stalled A4 is not gonna like the street tires, but throw some DRs on there and should be easy high 12's.

That's if you don't break your rear end.

Lowering springs will not help your 60 foot times at all. I would get a set of long tubes instead of those Macs.

I installed the following on my friend's '96 Ram Air T/A (automatic) back in the day and the first time he went to the track he ran a 13.3 with a 1.7 60 foot time with Eagle GSCs and he has no clue at all how to drive.

underdrive pulley
t/b by-pass
3.73 gear
sub frame connectors
3 inch Flowmaster cat back
Mac headers
air foil
160 thermostat
Hypertect tune and adjusted rev limiter and shift points (that's the only tuning method back in the day)

Since then, I installed a Vigilante stall converter, FLP long tube headers, plugs, wires, panhard bar, control arms, a Trans Go shift kit with some minor upgrades to the trans, and a trans cooler. I am sure that this car would have easily gone in the 12s but the fool sold his car with only 5000 miles on it a few months ago.

hold on.. I made a mistake - I mean't to type: Could i break out of the 13's and into the 12's

Thanks for the replies so far! My goal has been to get below 13.00 on my street tires if possible by the end of the summer.

Long tubes are out - This cars gotta pass emissions My guess is i'll probably have to consider getting LCA's to get enough traction for 12's.

Re: Is breaking 13 Possible with the following:

Lots of lightly-modded LS1s run 12's on street tires, so you know the 4th-gen platform is capable of it. Many even do it with stock suspension.

The question is, are you looking for 12.9@100 or 12.9@110?
