Break in on Solid Roller?

Just put a Solid roller set up in my car and am wondering if there is a break in period. I'm suppose to go to the track Next Friday, and don't really want to drive the car around till I go, so I dont have to relash the valves.

Thanks,
Jason

Mine's kinda big, but off the top of my head it's something like 618/627.. 255/260 and 108 LS.. Something like that... Can't remember exact numbers. Thats with 1.5RR, I'm not using 1.6's. But I can't upgrade to 1.6's because of clearance issues.

LOL!!

Remember what your using for lifter solid roller lifter. No break in process just need to readjust valves when the motor is warm. The break in process is required on a flat tappet cam or if your using a solid.

The size would not effect anything. Trust me because my cam is over 700 plus lift never have I done anything extra.

That's what I figured, but just wanted to make sure. I've never had a solid roller motor before.

Now are you saying that the first run on my motor will make my valves out of last to the point where i need to relash them, then after that will be normal lashing?

Kinda don't want to relash the valves this season, since I'm going to be doing it again when I do the stud girdle and taller valve covers.

And I know size doesn't make a difference, was just commenting about what cam I had

I got it from Bullet Cam's and no link cause it's a custom grind. When I get a free moment, I'll try and find the cam card to give you the cams part #.

Actually there is a break in period for a solid, If you don't you'll do like I did and wipe a lobe run it for 2 minutes @1500 then 2 more @idle then 2 minutes @2000. change the oil and reset the lash and your good to go..

I just put 200 miles on my 396, and had to re-adjust the valves, for the first time. They were loose. Not that bad at all. Cam spec's are 250/256@.050, 640/610 lift on a 112ls. I'd put some miles on it before taking it to the track. Only took about a hour to re-adjust them, had a friend under the car turning the motor over for me. I did pull the spark plugs just to make it easier.
